The Direct Energy Essentials Plans ("Plan") are provided by Home Warranty of America, Inc., a Direct Energy company. Direct Energy?s affiliates, franchisees and/or independent contractors will be performing various services under the Plan. Customers must sign up for 1-year commitment (the "Initial Term").There is a 30-day waiting period before coverage begins under the Repair Plan. Upon expiration of the Initial Term, the Plan will automatically renew at our then current standard rate and terms unless the customer opts out of the auto-renewal option in writing by mail at P.O. Box 500, Lincolnshire, IL 60069 or by email at cancel@hwahomewarranty.com. Sales tax will be added in select states. What am I responsible for?

As a homeowner, you are responsible for the interior electrical wiring and switches in your home. Many basic homeowners insurance policies do not cover repair of interior electric wiring and switches.

What kind of plans can I choose from?

Maintenance Essentials: A professional electrician will perform an annual inspection to ensure your system is in safe working order. These plans start as low as $8.99 per month.

Repair Essentials: This plan covers your interior hard-wired items including general wiring, fuse boxes, circuit breaker panels, circuit breakers, switches and receptacles for only $4.99 per month ($500 per repair incident, up to $2,000 annually).

Repair & Maintenance Essentials: This plan includes all of the benefits of both the repair and maintenance plans for only $12.99 per month.

What do the plans cover?

Maintenance only plans include:

What options do I have to pay for this service?

We accept bank drafts (EFT/ACH) and credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover).

How long am I covered by the plan?

Each plan is for one year and at our election will automatically renew on an annual basis at the then-current standard rate unless the customer opts out of the auto-renewal option in writing by mail at P.O. Box 500, Lincolnshire, IL 60069 or by email at cancel@hwahomewarranty.com.

When does the plan coverage start?

There is a 30-day waiting period before coverage begins during the initial term year for the repair plans. If you choose the maintenance only plan, coverage begins immediately.

Can I cancel my plan if I'm not satisfied?

If you haven't received services under the plan, you may cancel the plan at any time without penalty. If you have received services under the plan and you cancel before the end of the 12 month term, you may owe the lesser of the amount due for the unexpired term or the cost of the services under the plan. Please refer to Section 12 in the Terms and Conditions for full details.

What happens after the 12 months?

We may elect to renew your plan by notifying you of the renewal terms (including any price changes) within 60 days prior to expiration of coverage. Unless we elect not to renew your plan, you will be automatically renewed for another one year term at the then standard rate and terms unless you notify us, in writing, prior to the plan expiration at PO Box 500, Lincolnshire, IL 60069 or by email at cancel@hwahomewarranty.com.
